Contents

¡Oye! I come with another guide for you to continue taking advantage of Axie Infinity. This time I will tell you the basic concepts of attack and defense, advantages between classes, combos, tanks and other tips to improve your performance and that of your Axies, especially in PVP.

so coach, let's start!

Roles of the axes in a team

asset-15-7958651

One of the most important things when choosing your team is that it has balance and complements each other. Although there are many combinations, I always recommend beginners to go for the simple, a tank, an Axie with combo/crits and a finisher at the end.

Tank

The tank must withstand the greatest number of hits, therefore it must have a long life, cards that give a good shield and if possible a card with self-healing.

Support

The function of a support Axie is to favor the team and damage the opponent, can be drawing cards, stealing or destroying energy, removing debuffs or disabling a specific card type. In general, the insects, reptiles and Floors They fulfill this function very well..

Auctioneer

A finalist Axie is usually placed at the end of the team line, it is important to keep him alive and save his cards until the last rounds to annihilate the enemy Axies. It is important that they are fast and with a lot of damage to deal forceful blows. The best finishing axes are the Birds and the Pez.

Axies with combos and crits

An Axie specialized in combos and crits reaches its maximum potential when the necessary cards are used to activate these abilities., eliminate the opposing tank and turn the game in your favor. The Axie that best fulfills this function is the Beast.

Back door

Tracking Axies have an ability that allows them to attack a specific Axie no matter where they are.. All Axie classes have a backdoor card, except the insects.

Rounds of a battle

Battles are divided into rounds, in each of them the players and monsters have the opportunity to play their cards or take turns. Once the players finish their actions, the round ends, energy and cards are given to the teams again and a new one starts.

How are turns determined in a battle?

first-round-7933089

Fastest Axie strikes first, in case there are two Axies with the same speed, The player with the fewest life points will play first., if they both have the same life points, whoever has the most skill points will start, if there is a tie. whoever has the most morale points starts, if the tie is still not broken, the Axie with the lowest ID, that is to say, the oldest, the battle begins.

In summary: Speed > horsepower > Ability > Moral > DAYS.

The energies in a battle.

energy-9557655

The energy in a fight indicates the number of cards you can use in a round. There are cards that allow you to generate extra energy, either by combo, attacking enemies with a buff, losing your shield or with a card that just generates energy, for instance, the letter absorb moon of the beasts

In Adventure Mode there are 4 energies in the first round and 3 in the following.

In Arena Mode there are 3 energies in the first round and 2 in the following.

Tip: There are cards that destroy or steal energy, if you see that your opponent has this type of card, sometimes the best strategy is to try not to accumulate energy and attack with everything.

parts of a letter

deck of cards

mazo-1472832

The deck is made up of the cards that represent the parts of each Axie (boca, horn, back and tail). There are two cards for each part for a total of 8 cards for each Axie. Since the team is made up of 3 Axies and each contributes 8 cards to the deck, there is a total of 24 cards in the deck.

dissmis-5221988

You can only have a maximum of 12 visible cards, in case you have more than the maximum, the game will ask you to discard them until you have 12.

discard deck

discard-300x284-8919708

As the battle goes on, used cards are placed in the discard pile. Once you have drawn all the cards from the main deck, all cards from the discard pile are shuffled into the main deck and the cycle repeats.

Cards drawn in Adventure Mode: 6 in the first round and 3 in the following.

Drawn cards in Arena Mode: 6 in the first round and 2 in the following.

Note: Keep in mind that if you use two identical cards in the first rounds, you will have to wait for the cards in the discard pile to be shuffled before they come out again., think carefully about your strategies before attacking.

Attack

Stone Damage Bonus, paper or scissors or advantage between classes

rock_paper_scissors_effect-8815446

The advantages of some Axie classes over others are based on the old game of “Stone, paper or scissors”. Each class in Axie Infinity has classes against which you get a bonus damage of the 15% and there are other classes you get a bonus against (-15%).

You should know that the most important thing to keep in mind about this “bono” is that it is based on the Skill/Part of the attacking Axie and the body class of the defending Axie.

Bonus PPT Examples:

Example 1:

A water attack card, in this case koi, used against an axie plant.

axie-plant-2-9983010

This attack would have 15% less of damage since the plant has an advantage over the aquatic.

Example 2:

A beast attack card is used (Nutcracker) against an axie plant.ezoic-5883245Report this ad

axie-plant-4013885

Beast cards have advantages over plants, Thus, a bonus is added 15% to your harm.

Example 3:

A bird attack card, Little Owl, attack the body of an aquatic axie.

aqua-axie-7245694

The bird and the aquatic are neutral, neither has an advantage over the other, so the attack will do the base damage.

combo-3007738

chain or chain attack

Chain effects occur when multiple Axies use an ability card of the same class. These attacks increase the shield of these Axies (image 1).

combination

Combos occur when an Axie attacks with two or more cards in a round. Combos will add some damage depending on the ability of the Axie playing the combo. (image 2).

critical hits

critical-8392723

Critical hits are usually a bit random. Although, there are cards like Ronin (beast) that gives you a critical hit if you combine it with at least one other 2 letters.

ronin-3495949

Each Axie's chance to make a critical attack is based on their morale. The higher the morale, the higher the chance to get a critical hit. If your Axie is lucky and you make a crit, will inflict a 200 % damage to opposing Axie.

Last stand or last battle

last-stand-4518293

If an Axie is low on health and takes a hit for slightly more damage than it had, there is a possibility that it is in last Standthat is to say, has a few stacks or life bars left to hit before dying.

Note that the bars disappear as the cards in the round are played or guesses are made.. The higher Axie's morale, the more chances you will have to resist and the more stacks you will have.

defending

Due to the mechanics of the game, most new players have teams consisting of 1 defender (tank) and 2 attackers. These Axies are placed on the board in the layout that best suits the team.

The tank must be placed in front to receive the attacks and thus protect the attacking Axies from the damage caused by the opposing team.

How to choose a good tank?

Good tanks have the following characteristics:

Health

health-8520250

Since the main job of tanks is to protect the rest of the team from possible damage from the opponent, must be tough and able to absorb attack. The first way you can do this is through your Health.

Usually, Grass and Dusk class Axies are chosen as tanks, as they have the highest health levels (43 HP). They are followed by the Aquatic and Reptile Axis (39 HP).

Note that each part of the Axie contributes a part to its base stats.. The parts of plants or reptiles add each +3 HP al Axie, regardless of class. Every Axie has 6 parts in total, so one with only plant and/or reptile parts would have 18 extra hp. If we do the math and add, the maximum base HP an Axie can have is 61 HP.

Note: Remember that PvE increases HP for each level that Axie increases, so at the level 20, your health will be much higher than when you started the game. This does not happen in PVP.

self healing

Now, no matter how well the Axie defends, some damage will happen. Sometimes, the cards you are dealt do not match the attack of the enemy team and injuries occur. A tank that is capable of healing itself (or that he sometimes gets help from a support Axie) will last much longer.

shiitake-2509909

Fortunately, the creators of the game had this in mind and also created moves for this purpose. ZigZag mouth is a good example, as it heals the attacking Axie for the same amount of damage it deals to the enemy Axie.

zigzag-2702207

Armor

In addition to having high HP, a tank needs to defend itself. This is very important because it is useless to have a high HP if an Axie with a lot of attack eliminates it in the first turn.

Each part (not including eyes and ears) has an associated card that allows you to attack and defend against the opposing team.

To know the amount of shield that your axie has, you must look at the numbers that are above the green shield:

pumpkin-4033974

If you select a card with a high Defense number, your Axie is protected from that amount of damage for that turn.

If the Axie has shields, the attacking Axie will hit the shield until it disappears and then start taking health away. Nevertheless, there are some cards that can bypass the shield for an attack, como DoubleTalk y Tiny Turtle, for instance.

Example 1:

If your tank has a shield 100 and an Axie attacks him with 120 Of damage, your tank will lose shield and 20 of health.

Example 2:

doubletalk-7799590

If your tank has a shield 100 and an Axie attacks him with the DoubleTalk card (puts him to sleep) the next attack you receive will ignore the shield and directly affect health.
